Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants As Medical Providers
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) have advanced educational degrees and training in medicine. All are certified and licensed to practice medicine, and our physicians have full confidence in their ability to properly care for you.
The NPs and PAs are an integral part of Patient Care Teams within The Medical Group, and they work closely with their physician colleagues who review the clinical care provided to patients.
Both PAs and NPs are fully qualified to order tests, write prescriptions, diagnose conditions, and perform certain procedures. An NP or PA would always refer or consult with another provider for issues outside of his or her scope of practice or experience.
The Medical Group is proud to offer the services of these providers in order to give patients easier access to high-quality care. In many cases, you have the option of booking an appointment with an NP or PA to address new or ongoing medical concerns. Some of our NPs and PAs have additional training in medical specialties, so your physician may recommend them for specialty care.
If you have any questions about what Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants can do for you, please feel free to ask any of our providers.
